特製エビ入りカップ麺、Shrympeeを召し上がれ

9月3日のポストで紹介しながら、すっかり発売が遅れていたLA在住のアニメ・デザイナーDavid Chung（デイビッド ・チャン） の、みごとに奇天烈な喰えないカップ麺フィギュア、Shrympee（シリンピー）の発売だ。
じつはカップ麺と同じ発砲スチロール製のパッケージがボロボロに割れて届いたものだから。
ちなみに下の画像はSDCC 2012の3DRetroブースでのスナップで、左がレトロのオーナー兼モチャ・プロデューサーのBen Goretsky（ベン・ ゴレスキー）、右がデイビッド ・チャンである。
シリンピーについて、彼らはこう語っているのだった。
「長いあいだ、シリンピーは食べることが唯一の特権であった神様からもたらされたご馳走だと思われていた。分不相応な人に処理されたり、消費されたりすることは死罪に当たる犯罪だと考えられていた。しかし今日、何千というシリンピーが陸揚げされ、簡単にパッケージ化されている。で、あなたも、ちょいと豪勢な食べ物にありつけるというわけだ。王様気分で召し上がれ、そしてシリンピーを存分に味わいなさい」。

They told as follows about the Shrympee.
