ちょっと大袈裟かな、留之助ソフビに必ずや新しい未来をもたらしてくれる頼もしい味方をご紹介いただきました。
仲を取り持ってくれたのは留之助のコア・カスタマーのひとりで、エネルギッシュなコレクターさんで、オモチャ道楽が過ぎて、いまではプロデューサーとしてオリジナル・ソフビをヒットさせているMS.TOYSJAPANの佐野さん。
ソフビにメッキできないものかと多方面でリサーチした挙げ句、完全にお手上げ状態でいた店主を見て、そっと耳打ちしてくれたんです。
「凄い人がいますよ。誰も真似できない塗装の技で、クロームメッキと同水準の、いやそれ以上に美しく仕上げちゃうLiberty Tokyoの澁谷さんって方です。ご紹介しますよ」。
銀鏡塗装っていうんですね、HPを拝見して言葉を失いました。
金や銀の単色ばかりか、いろんな色の、しかもグラデーションまでが艶々と光り輝いて、こんな美しいメッキ・・・もとい、塗装はいままで見たことありません。
留ブラ・クロム製作中に、樹脂パーツ（マガジンまわり）に施した真空蒸着メッキでソフビを加工できないものかと技術者さんに訊ねると、弾力のある素材へのメッキ処理はヒビ割れが起きやすく、保証の限りではないと言われて断念していたのです。
そんなこんなを、すべて澁谷さんが解消してくれそうです。

お正月明けの11日ごろ、試作品を届けてくださるということで、最高のお年玉になりそうです。I was introduced to someone who is reliable and will held bring about a bright, new future for Tomenosuke Sofubi. One of the main customers at Tomenosuke, an energetic collector and lover of toys, introduced us to one another. It was Sano-san of MS.TOYSJAPAN who now works as a toy producer, making hit original Sofubi. After doing a lot of research into whether things could be used as a chrome coat for Sofubi and having no idea what to do, he came to me to help.
"I know someone amazing. Shibuya-san, an artist from Liberty Tokyo, has a painting technique that no-one can copy and can produce a finish that the same level or even more beautiful than chrome coating. I'll introduce you."
It's called GIN-KYO (silver mirror) painting. I was lost for words when I looked at the website. It's not just simple gold and silver colors, but a variety of colors with glossy, shiny gradation, too. I've never seen a coating, I mean painting, this beautiful before. When creating Tomenosuke Blaster Chrome, I asked a technician whether you can process soft vinyl onto resin parts using vacuum evaporation coating, to which they replied that cracks are easily formed when coating springy materials and that wouldn't be covered in the warranty. That left me having almost given up on the idea, but Shibuya-san solved all these problems for me.
I received a picture of the head of the Thomas Nosuek during test painting. I was astounded by the gorgeous mirror finish that honestly looks as good as a chrome coat. He/she said they will deliver a prototype on the 11th in the New Year, so it will be the perfect New Year's present.
